National Alliance for Autism Research The National Alliance for Autism Research, NAAR, is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to finding the causes, prevention, effective treatment and, ultimately, cure of the autism spectrum disorders. The Autism Research Foundation The Autism Research Foundation (TARF), founded in 1990, was born out of the need to insure continued funding for this research as well as the need to educate the autistic community about the importance for brain donations for research purposes.
